I love to see the temple

Yesterday we had the opportunity to go to the temple of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter day Saints. There was a couple that we go to church with who was going to the temple for the first time. Cameron’s mom came over to stay with the kids so that me and Cameron could both go.

The temple that is closest to us, in Atlanta, is closed right now for renovations. This meant that we had to drive almost 4 hours to the temple in Columbia South Carolina. We couldn’t leave until Cameron got off work so we were already cutting our time frame a little close. On the way there we missed an exit. Luckily we discovered our mistakes only 10 minutes or so down the road so we didn’t lose too much time. We were running about 5 minutes late as we drew close. Luckily Cameron had the temple phone number and they agreed to hold the session up a few minutes until we got there.

After completing our endowment session we were able to accompany our friends into the sealing room. In a special ceremony they were married not only until death do you part but for time and all eternity. This couple has been married for several years. To see the joy and the love in their eyes as they were joined for all eternity was such a wonderful feeling. I was so glad to be sitting next to a wonderful man whom I am sealed to. It was good to remember the covenants that we had made with God and each other as well as the blessings that will be ours if we obey those covenants. I am so greatful for a Heavenly Father who loves me enough to give me the opportunity to have my family with me for all eternity.

About smithfamilysiren

Me and my partner in crime, Cameron, are just a bit crazy according to most of the people we know. Why? Because we love procreation! Our clan consists Corey born Oct 2002, Madeline March 2008, Benjamin May 2009, and Leah July 2010. We have no plans of stopping any time soon. Come join us on the rollercoaster of pregnancy, birth, diapers, feeding, outings, and all the other craziness that ensues when you have a house full of little people.
